  • In these works Muller pushes his method of indirect painting ever further. Enamel drips are frozen in perfectly free gestures only to be reborn in static metal machine cut outs. The artist takes the shapes back in and returns the gentle touch of the human hand. The dichotomy between intuitive process and machine-made repetition displays Muller’s constant battle with the past and the future. We are left with a very delicate but sometimes incomplete representation of our present. The perfect mirror for today’s mind…
